Here’s some aural anxiety for your Monday – the new trailer for Jeffrey A. Brown’s The Unheard has just dropped from Shudder, and it looks to be promisingly creepy.
The Unheard stars Chucky breakout Lachlan Watson as a young woman with hearing loss. The full plot synopsis reads as follows:
After undergoing an experimental procedure to restore her damaged hearing, 20-year-old Chloe Grayden begins to suffer from auditory hallucinations seemingly related to the mysterious disappearance of her mother.
Alongside Watson, Michele Hicks (Orange is the New Black), Shunori Ramanathan (The Big Sick) and Brendan Meyer (Color Out of Space) will also star.
The Unheard is written by Michael and Shawn Rasmussen, the brothers behind 2019’s alligator horror hit Crawl.
Brown’s feature debut The Beach House was an early pandemic hit on Shudder, and followed a young couple and their beach house holiday threatened by a gruesome and mysterious infection. In a statement to Deadline, the director had this to say about his upcoming reunion with Shudder:
โI am beyond excited to be working with Shudder again…We had a fantastic experience with The Beach House and Iโm super grateful to have the opportunity to share The Unheard with its members. Our cast and crew have delivered a stunning piece of work and I cannot wait for audiences to take our trip into the strange realms between life & death and silence & noise!โ
The Unheard will premiere on Shudder on March 31st and from the looks of this trailer, it’s not one to miss. Check out said brand new trailer and poster below while you wait:
