According to a new report at Variety, Magnus Martens’ There’s Something in the Barn has been pre-sold in a number of major territories all over the world, which means that just about everyone’s gonna get a chance to see this raucous-looking horror comedy when it starts rolling out in November.

Even better, the above news was accompanied by the film’s very first teaser trailer, which goes a helluva long way towards selling There’s Something in the Barn‘s bonkers premise:

โ€œAn American family fulfills their dream of returning to their roots after inheriting a remote cabin in the mountains of Norway. However, they are in for a big surprise. An elf with a nasty temper lives in the houseโ€™s barn. When the family starts to infuriate the creature, a raw and bloody struggle for survival ensues.โ€

So, what’s that look like in action? Take a look…

Y’know, we’ve had any number of holiday-themed horror films over the years, but so many of them tend to offer up Santa Claus as the villain. It’s high time we had a horror-comedy wherein elves are given their chance to shine (read: wreak absolute havoc on an unsuspecting family). From the looks of this trailer, There’s Something in the Barn looks like it will one day make for an excellent triple feature alongside Mike Dougherty’s Krampus and Jalmari Helander’s Rare Exports.

Martens, who previously directed episodes of Fear the Walking Dead, Good Behavior, and Banshee, oversees a cast led by Martin Starr, Amrita Acharia, and Jeppe Beck Laursen. It will soon screen at both Sitges and Fantastic Fest before hitting theaters on November 10th.

Nothing further to report on There’s Something in the Barn at this time, but do stay tuned for further updates as they roll in.
