Today brings us a brand-new trailer for Matt Angel and Suzanne Coote’s The Wrath of Becky, a film we’re looking forward to getting a look at when it drops next month, and this writer is pleased to report that said trailer is of the red-band variety. While not quite as gnarly as some red-band trailers we’ve seen in the past, they’ve certainly made sure to include plenty of the red stuff.
Let’s take a look…
In the original Becky (2020), our heroine went toe-to-toe with a bunch of escaped Neo-Nazi prisoners (led by, of all people, Kevin James) who’ve invaded her family’s lakefront home with murder on their mind. They do not fare well, and now here we are three years later, with Becky a few years older and a helluva lot more practiced in the art of fucking up bad guys.
This time around, some nogoodniks have stolen her dog, Diego, and Becky’s willing to shed as much blood as is necessary to get him back. The trailer above promises a fun, bloody, perhaps just a wee bit mean-spirited time at the movies. Unless the dog dies, of course. That would not be fun time at the movies.
Original star Lulu Wilson is back, and this time around she’s joined by Seann William Scott (stepping into the Big Bad role formerly filled by James), Matt Angel, Courtney Gains, Jill Larson, and the greatย Kate Siegel. It’ll be available to watch exclusively in theaters on May 26th. Stay tuned for more on this one as further updates become available!
