Listen, if you’ve spent any amount of time keeping an eye on the collectible movie screenprint industry, you know that some titles tend to be immortalized more than others. Alien. Robocop. Star Wars. All of the Universal Monsters, particularly Dracula and Frankenstein. There’s no shortage of these posters to be found, but today Vice Press has dropped a brand-new Frankenstein print (from artist Tom Whalen) that really is one of the best we’ve seen in years, and you can get your grubby little mitts on one even as we speak.
Here’s the print, in both regular (full color) and variant (black-and-white) editions:
Purists will, of course, be drawn to the B&W variant, but I gotta tell you: the neon pink and purple of the regular edition are too good for this writer to pass up. Love the portrait of Frankenstein’s monster up top, love that burning windmill, love the quiet scene down there at the bottom, with ol’ flat-top making nice with a certain doomed young girl. A+ work, all the way around.
These prints, which measures 12″ x 36″, come in editions of 175 (for the regular) and 100 (for the variant), and both can currently be pre-ordered via this page at Vice Press alongside two other killer portraits of Frankenstein’s monster and his Bride by Candra Hope. Those look like this:
It’s an embarrassment of riches for Frankenstein fans! But enough of my yakking: better head on over to Vice Press now to snag one for yourself, before they’re gone forever!
