Over the holiday weekend, Universal dropped a brand-new trailer for M. Night Shyamalan’s Knock at the Cabin, the director’s latest horror offering (based on Paul Tremblay’s novel, The Cabin at the End of the World), and … well, look, only you know how much information you’d like on Knock at the Cabin before seeing it. But from where we’re standing, this trailer seems maybe a bit too spoilery for its own good.
Will you watch it, or will you leave Knock at the Cabin‘s surprises to be discovered when you catch the film in February? Make your choice!
For those just joining the Knock at the Cabin conversation, here’s an official plot synopsis:
โWhile vacationing at a remote cabin, a young girl and her parents are taken hostage by four armed strangers who demand that the family make an unthinkable choice to avert the apocalypse. With limited access to the outside world, the family must decide what they believe before all is lost.โ
As you can see in the trailer above, all of this is accurate! You’ve got your four, armed strangers (including Rupert Grint and Glass Onion MVP Dave Bautista), you’ve got your family taken hostage (headed up by Mindhunter‘s Jonathan Groff and Ben Aldridge), and you’ve got what certainly appears to be an apocalyptic situation brewing in the background. Is there a method to these homewrecking maniacs’ madness? You’ll have to buy a ticket (or read Tremblay’s novel) to find out!
The novel you can read any time, of course, but if you’re gonna give the adaptation a shot first, be aware that M. Night Shyamalan’s Knock at the Cabin hits theaters on February 3rd. We’ll see you there!
