Join us on the red carpet for the True Detective Season 4 premiere. It’s been five years since the third season of True Detective hit the air, and Issa López is taking audiences back into the world of homicide detectives while adding her own flair to the mix. Packed with plenty of snowy horror elements, folks may be quick to make comparisons to iconic wintery horrors like The Thing or The Shining, and then there’s the obvious Silence of the Lambs reference with Jodie Foster in the lead as the town’s police chief. But López is quick to subtly reference all the obvious callouts upfront and let audiences know she knows her shit… and she’s taking it somewhere else.
True Detective: Night Country Cast
We hit the red carpet with the True Detective: Night Country cast. The fourth season of the anthology series stars Jodie Foster and Kali Reis as Detectives Liz Danvers and Evangeline Navarro. We caught up with Kali Reis, Finn Bennett (Peter Prior), Isabella Star LaBlanc (Leah Danvers), Anna Lambe (Kayla Malee), and Aka Niviâna (Julia Navarro) ahead of their big premiere to talk about the new season. The fourth season takes place in Alaska and highlights the indigenous community and culture of the fictional mining town of Ennis, Alaska. Much of the cast has indigenous roots and talked about the importance of highlighting these characters in a fully realized way, as well as what it was like working with López and Foster when we met up with them on the red carpet.

How To Watch True Detective: Night Country
New episodes of True Detective: Night Country will premiere on the HBO network Sunday nights and will also be available to stream on Max. Previous seasons of True Detective are available to buy on VOD via Apple TV, Vudu, Google Play, Amazon, and the Microsoft Store, but it will likely take this fourth season some time to make its way off of Max.
You won’t be lost if you haven’t seen the other seasons of True Detective, as López has really created something that works within the True Detective world while also working as a standalone. But there are fun callbacks and references to things we’ve seen in previous seasons that will be extra exciting for existing fans of the show.
