Luca Galante’s Vampire Survivors arrived towards the tail end of 2022, and quickly made a name for itself as one of the most wildly addictive roguelike bullet hell titles on the market. Is Vampire Survivors a visually impressive game? No. Does it tell a particularly compelling story? Oh, definitely not. But is it relatively easy to pick up and impossible to put down once it sinks its fangs into you? Absolutely. The cumulative hours I have lost playing this game on my phone will not be something I look favorably upon once I’m firmly tucked into my death bed.
And yet…
Today’s Nintendo Direct showcase has revealed that Galante’s Vampire Survivors is headed for Switch, and I am prepared to fritter away even more of my increasingly valuable free time with it when it lands on August 17th. This version will include all of Vampire Survivors‘ previously-released expansions, on top of offering 4-player local co-op. Yes, yes, XBOX has had Vampire Survivors for a while now, but I don’t currently own an XBOX, whereas I do have a Switch. And if my calculations are correct, I should be done letting Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom have its way with me juuust around the time that Vampire Survivors becomes available.
It is going to ruin my life, and that’s okay.
Nothing further to report on the Nintendo Switch version of Vampire Survivors (or that recently-announced Vampire Survivors animated series) as of this writing, but we’ll keep you informed as further updates roll in. Stay tuned, folks.
