When there’s no more room in hell, the dead will walk the earth! The Monroeville Mall is something of a bucket list destination for horror fans as it’s the same mall the hellacious dead walked in Romero’s Dawn of the Dead. A chance to visit the mall in itself is pretty great, but later this month, fans will be able to actually watch Dawn of the Dead at the mall!

Cinemark and FANGORIA have teamed up to present a Dawn of the Dead 45th-anniversary screening at the Monroeville Mall (where the movie was filmed), in association with the Living Dead Museum. Special guests will be in attendance, here’s more info from the official page:

Celebrate George A. Romero’s 1979 seminal zombie classic with this rare opportunity to see it back on the big screen in the theater at the famous mall where it was filmed! Featuring special guests in attendance from the film for a Q&A before the show, including: Bob Michelucci, Joe Shelby, Marty Schiff, Mike Narducci, Sharon Hill, and more. The iconic screen used motorcycle & side car from the film will also be on site and available for photos (courtesy of the Living Dead Museum).

If you’re not in Monroeville, don’t fret! You can still catch Dawn of the Dead on the big screen. To find other participating theaters around the U.S. and Canada, visit the official Dawn45 website. It will also play all weekend at the Harris Theatre in downtown Pittsburgh, so Monroeville area folks will have multiple chances to catch the show on the big screen.
