Writer and director Directed by Edoardo Vitaletti’s The Last Thing Mary Saw hits Shudder today, and we have an exclusive sneak peek. In 1843, Southold, New York Young Mary (Stefanie Scott) is interrogated regarding the events surrounding her grandmother’s death. She’s also blindfolded, as blood trickles onto her face from beneath the cloth. As Mary walks her interrogators through the events that unfolded before their arrival, the story jumps back to the beginning to reveal a rigid, religious household. This is a problem when Mary’s love affair with the maid, Eleanor (Isabelle Fuhrman) is discovered and the family doles out severe punishment. The matriarch of the family is repressively religious, and the family essentially takes her word as law. The tension is heightened by the arrival of a mysterious stranger (Rory Culkin) as greater forces at work are revealed.
Starring Stefanie Scott (Insidious Chapter 3), Isabelle Fuhrman (Orphan), Rory Culkin (Lords of Chaos) and Judith Roberts (Dead Silence, Eraserhead). Stay tuned for our exclusive Convo X Fango with Edoardo Vitaletti and Rory Culkin, as well as Michael Gingold’s interview with Judith Roberts. Watch the clip below:
