Much like the inciting event that happens in his film, Jordan Peele has dropped his trailer for Nope on us in the middle of the night, and now we’re all freaked out and can’t sleep.
After staring at Nope‘s intriguing teaser poster for the better part of a year, we’ve finally got a scrap of context for what happens in the film, as well as a handful of hints and clues for you frame-by-frame lunatics.
The film seems to find Keke Palmer’s character (along with Daniel Kaluuya) as the proprietor of Haywood Ranch, the only Black-owned horse training outfit in Hollywood, and one with a very specific motion picture legacy. We establish the business’ desert setting and goings-on, AND THEN, I THINK, ALIENS SHOW UP.
Holy hell.
If you go through this trailer frame by frame, you’re gonna see some seriously creepy stuff. I won’t spoil it for you here, but trust: it’s worth it to scan through this thing like the Zapruder film. Oh my god.
The wait until July 22, 2022 just got a little longer.
