The one-two punch of Ti West’s X and Pearl (two horror movies filmed back-to-back, and each featuring a bravura performance from the insanely talented Mia Goth) is one of the bigger horror genre stories of the year, an unexpected duology (and soon-to-be trilogy, thanks to the recently-announced Maxxxine) offering a shotgun blast of pure malevolence and absolute madness.
Y’know who would love these movies? Your family. And the good news is, Pearl is hitting Blu-ray and digital on November 15th, just in time for Thanksgiving. Just picture it. Your whole family has gathered for another year. Everyone’s finished their third plate of food. You grandfather is asleep, possibly permanently, in the living room’s old recliner. Sure, you could watch football or whatever’s dropping on Disney+ that week … or you could treat your loved ones to a surprise double feature!

OK, so, not exactly a stacked release, but if we were placing bets we’d probably put a fair amount of money on A24 setting aside the really good stuff for some sorta mega-release, one that’ll arrive after West completes his ongoing trilogy (hell, maybe there’ll be another West/Goth movie after that; you don’t know). Those of you who wish to have Pearl in your homes long before that hypothetical time comes will want to go ahead and pick this version up in the meantime.
